Teddy the Ferret
Teddy the ferret - Adult male albino

Teddy is a very playful little guy but can be a bit nibbly. Given a good home with plenty of toys and attention he will soon come round.

Part of his fur looks different as he had to be shaved where he had barbed wire round him. He is a gorgeous boy who needs a good home after his bad start. Please contact us is you think you can offer him a home.

Rats - REF: DAN 011
Mixed Colours, sexes and ages

We constantly have rats in looking for homes. Rats can make wonderful family pets and are very clean animals. Many of the rats we receive at the centre have come from multi-animal households and are very timid, but should become very friendly in time. Rats love lots of things to do and it is important to give them lots of places to hide and play in (they love hammocks!)

Gerbils REF: DAN 012
Mixed colours, sexes and ages

We are always looking for homes for gerbils. Gerbils like to tunnel and dig so it is important that they are housed in a tank environment with suitable bedding that can accommodate their tunnels. They can be fascinating pets for all ages, but are not the easiest of animals to handle. As with all small animals, time should be taken to research their individual needs before considering re-homing any.

Hamsters - REF: DAN 013
Mixed breeds, colours, sexes and ages

We nearly always have different breeds of hamsters in at the centre, mainly through overbreeding. Each breed has it's own requirements and it is important that these are fully understood before taking an animal on.

Goats Toggenberg X Adult REF: DAN 002
These are two of three goats were admitted to the centre via a RSPCA Inspector. They are very friendly goats and a very established group. There is a clear leader amongst them and the other two follow her lead! They are easy to handle and will make ideal pets for a small holding.

Chinchillas Adult Grey REF:DAN 004
We have several chinchillas looking for homes of varying ages and sexes. They all require large accommodation and prefer to live in at least pairs. Chinchillas do not make the best pets for children as they are not happy about being handled. However, as an adult pet, they can be fascinating animals to own. It is essential that you research Chinchilla care before considering taking on one as a pet. They can live for over 20 years and have very specific requirements.

Guinea-Pigs - REF DAN 005
The centre currently has several guinea-pigs of varying ages and sexes looking for homes. It is important that guinea-pigs have daily access to natural sunlight via an outdoor run. Guinea pigs like to hide and need tunnels and tubes to fulfil this. Most rabbits are too playful for guinea pigs and we do not re-home a guinea pig with a rabbit unless they are an established pair, but they do need the company of other guinea pigs.
