THIS IS WHAT THE WORK OF THE BRANCH IS ALL ABOUT
Two rescue cats that came into our care have found paradise. Taz is a Male, tabby, about 8 months old and Freyer is an 18 month old female. As you can see from the picture they may come in with sad stories some times but these are two cats that got the cream.

TWO RESCUE CATS SETTLING IN THEIR NEW HOME!!
With the number of cats that come into our care it always pleases us all when we are sent pictures of cats that are now in loving and caring homes and Smirnoff and Bailey have settled in well, they are still a little nervous but I don't think it will take them long as you can see from the pictures they have made themselves at home.

ANIMAL WELFARE ACT BECAME LAW ON 6th APRIL 2007
The RSPCA is celebrating the historic implementation of the Animal Welfare Act that came into force on the 6th April 07 which will mean a brighter future for neglected pets and other animals.
The animal welfare act is of great significance to the many thousands of animals that suffer through neglect, and for those of us who work to help prevent suffering.

VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED
We are urgently looking for volunteers to help with the work of the Branch so if you have a few hours to spare in a week or month maybe you can get involved with any of the following:
Home vetting/Rehoming - We are expanding our home vetting team across the Branch to allow checks to be carried out on potential homes of Cats, Dogs etc awaiting new homes. Full training and joint visits with some of our team are given before being expected to carry out checks on your own. It is our policy to rehome animals as soon as practical and the sooner we can carry out a home check the sooner an animal can go to a new loving home.
Fundraising- If you have time to organise a fund raising event for our Branch then you are very welcome. We urgently need people to help organise in the fundraising area to boost the funds to support as many animals as possible. Our fund raising is co-ordinated by Christine Bailey and she would be pleased to hear from you. You can leave a message for her on our "contact us" page. The Branch is being severely hampered in the number of animals we can help due to limited funds at this time.
Fostering - We are in urgent need of more volunteers who can foster a cat or dog on a short term basis. Many of our cats come to us without having been vaccinated and as soon as we receive them they are given a flu jab and are microchipped. We need caring people who can look after them for the first two to three weeks of their stay with us to ensure that they do not have any infections before going to one of our catteries for rehoming. The same is true for our dogs.
If you feel that this is an area that you would like to be involved in please give us your details on our "contact us" page and we will provide you with all the information you need.
